Christmas Day was good. The girls are very excited with all their presents...Kurt is happy with everything he received..and of course, I love all my stuff!!
The day after is usually an emotional let-down for me. The days leading up to the holiday are filled with anticipation, excitement...secret keeping...it's sooo fun....and I always try so hard to not let the commercialism of the holiday overtake my thoughts....I really try and focus on the real meaning...the fact that the we even have the holiday is because of our Savior...but the day comes and goes, and I tend to feel I was somewhat lacking in that area. I want the "Santa-esque" quality to be secondary...and the Beautiful story of Jesus to be in the forefront of my mind, and in the girls' minds as well!
Anyways......i'm very blessed. I have family that loves me, friends that care for me, and a Savior that was born for the sole purpose to take my sins, and die, so that I could have life. Is that awesome or what???
Well, after the girls got up yesterday, we opened gifts...Pastor Shane, Carol and Zander came over for breakfast...Kurt made his yummy french toast dish....then the task of opening all the boxes to get to the fun stuff was underway. We ended the day with an awesome dinner over at Pastor Shane and Carol's. Again...I'm so blessed by great friends!!
