Okay, so when I was at the Dr. the second time, we were discussing whether or not vitamin C really helped or not. He says no! Well...Dr. Phil had a panel of Dr.'s on, and they were discussing whether or not it worked..all of the Dr.s said no, except for the psychologist, who said if the patient "thinks" it works, then it usually will....so this brings me to my title..munchies. I was prescribed steroids to help open up my chest to breathe, and they make me really hungry. Well, I've felt so icky, I havn't had any appetite at all, nothing sounded good, plus it hurt too much to swallow...Well....every since I started taking the prednizone, I'm hungry..a lot...no matter how much it hurts to swallow.... hmmmm is this real, or is it in my head?? Hmmmm.
Anyways...I am still in bed. However, I did manage to make it to the table for 1 meal today..dinner! I was starving! Now, back in bed! I hate being sick....

My thoughts about life.

coming from a girl who's on LOTS of steroids for asthma and occasional colds and other reasons, drink LOTS of water when you feel hungry....that's the pitfall with losing the weight and being on meds...increase your water...it's not easy but it will keep the losing weight trend going and attempts to tame the hunger pains. Hope you feel better soon!
Yep on the water thing. Drink lots of it when you think you're hungry.
Hope you start feeling better soon!
So, I am a person that takes Vitamin C when I start to feel sick. I believe that it does help. So, I looked online a bit after I read this, it seems to be true that taking vitamin c while you are already sick doesn't help you get better any faster. However, if you take Vitamin C as a daily supplement it lessens your chance of getting sick or catching the common cold. It is an antioxidant and that is a good thing. When I start to feel sick and I take Vitamin C on a regular basis for a few days to a week my symptoms go away. So, maybe it is in my head or maybe it is actually doing something. I guess we will never know.
Hope you start to feel better! We missed you at life group on tuesday. We will be praying for you to feel better so we can see you at Life Group this Tuesday or even church on Sunday.
And way to go on the weight loss!
I hope you get better soon. It's no fun to be sick. As for the Vitamin C, I wouldn't expect it to help you get better any quicker but I agree with Nikole that it might help you keep from getting sick in the future. BUT, here is what I ALWAYS do when I feel a cold coming on. I use Zi-Cam nasal swabs. I never get sick if I use those. I believe it's just zinc, and I did read an article on the web that explains why they work. It wouldn't hurt to try them now, but they are most effective if used within 24 hours of the onset. And, they are easy to use, don't have a smell or a taste, and it's quick. I could sell these babies on television. Why don't they call me and offer me a million dollars to do so?
