I experienced the wierdest phenomenon. Yesterday, Becca and I were baking bananna bread. (yes..I bake). Well, as cooking with toddlers go...she happened to drop an egg on the floor. We have hardwood floors in the kitchen, and as I was trying to clean up the mess, I had the hardest time. My first attempt was with a napkin...yeah..what a riot...all that did was spread it around...then I tried a dishcloth...that smeared it around...so egg was going everywhere, I was getting frustrated, and during all this, Becca was whining about the fact that all she wanted to do was stir and crack another egg. AAUUGGHHH!!! After multiple attempts to soak up the egg with things, I finally surrendured to the fact that I wasn't going to "wipe" it up with anything, so I scooped it up with a spoon, and threw it out.
This kinda reminds me of our goofs with God. We can try all we want to clean it up ourselves, in our own strength, but all we really end up doing, is spreading the mess around. Sometimes creating a bigger catastrophe for ourselves. But If we realize that it takes something, or Someone more powerful than us, to help "scoop" us up...then the mess gets taken care of.
Kinda neat huh??

**By the way...the bread was wonderful!!**
